Jeffrey Wharton
1949-2007
Jeffrey L. Wharton, 57, of Shreve, died Wednesday, June 20, 2007, at Wooster Community Hospital. Services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Schlabach Funeral Home at Shreve with the Rev. Mark Davenport officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery with Military rites.
Friends may call tonight (Friday) from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the family.
Jeff was born June 23, 1949, in Blachleyville to Earl and Kerrinne (Clark) Wharton.
Jeff was a member of the Shreve Farmers and Sportsman Club, the National Rifle Association, and a lifetime member of the Loudonville American Legion. He served in the U.S. Marines in Vietnam. He had been employed at Rexroth as a machine operator for more than 20 years.
Surviving are a son, Randy (Kay) Wharton of Wooster; two daughters, Jennifer Wharton of AppleCreek, and Whitney (Brad Kurtz) Wharton of Wooster; six grandchildren; three brothers, Allen (Sandy) Wharton of Wooster, Dave (Dianne) Wharton of Bowling Green, Ky., and Mark (Jan) Wharton of Wooster; two sisters, Linda (Michael) Kelly of Shreve, and Connie Bohl of Ashland, and his faithful companion, Rocky. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Jeremy, and a brother, Dan.
The family would like to invite family and friends to a potluck carry in dinner that will be held following the funeral service at 4 p.m.. at the Shreve Farmer and Sportsmans Club.
