SHREVE--John C. Force, 82, of Shreve, died Monday, Feb. 8, 2016 at his home.

Services will be Saturday, February 13 at 11a.m. at Schlabach Funeral Home in Shreve, with Pastor Jean Coleman officiating.  Burial will be in Sherwood Memorial Gardens, where military rites will be conducted.

Friends may call Friday forom 2-4p.m. and 6-8p.m. at the funeral home.  Online condolences may be shared at schlabachfh.com..

He ws born July 31, 1933 in Akron to Virgil and Helen (Eberhart) Force and married Carolyn Hannan on July 25, 1958, She survives.

John had been a bilolgy teacher at Triway High School for 31 years and held numerous part-time jobs following his retirement, including at Mohican Youth Camp, as a night watchman for downtown Wooster businesses, in the outdoor education program for Triway Local Schools, and mowing grass for several schools.

John was a graduate of Ashland University and had been an avid reader, especially anything involving history.  He was a member of  Big Prairie Community Bible Church. John served in the US. Navy as a medical corpsman in Cambridge, Md.. 

Surviving in addition to his wife, are children, Cindy Force of Atlanta, Ga., Brian(Sue) Force of Scottsdale, Ariz., Alan (Melissa) Force of Tuscan, Ariz., and Mike (Michelle) Force of Wooster; grandchildren, Cheri (Joshua) Sampson, Shannon Force, Kristina (Marcus) Hughes, Steven Force, Chelsea Force, Zach Force, and John Force; great-grandchildren, Sebastian and Gwendolyn Sampson, and a brother, James (Deloris) Force of Bellville.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Sue Anne; and an infant brother, Robert Force.
