SHREVE- Stephen C. Rutt, 68, of Shreve passed away Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at Smithville Western Care Center following a period of declining health.

He was born in Wooster, May 6, 1951 to Cliffton L. and Wava (Harbaugh) Rutt. On Sept. 10, 1988, he married Nancy O. Ross Hopkins and she survives.

Stephen was a self-employed truck driver and loved talking on his CB to other drivers, enjoying the camaraderie of being a trucker.  He was a member of the Wooster Eagles Lodge #811, enjoyed watching Cleveland and all Ohio sports teams, and bowling on a league at Triway Lanes until his health wouldn't pemit him to continue.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, is his mother, Wava Etxwiler of Big Prairie; stepdaughter, Michelle A. Brammer of Michigan; and a step granddaughter Deven A (Steve) Brammer of Mass..

He was preceded in death by his sister Stacey A. Knepp and both sets of grandparents.

Private family services will be held Saturday, January 18th with Pastor Tom Benter officiating.  Burial will be in Ripley Cemetery.  Schlabach Funeral Home, Shreve is assisting the family with arrangements.  Online condolences may be shared with the family at schlabachfh.com.
